The integration of China's gearbox industry and energy storage industry focuses on the deep coupling of wind power transmission systems and energy storage scenarios, forming an integrated technology path of 'power generation transmission regulation'. In the field of wind power generation, the gearbox, as the core component of semi direct drive and doubly fed units, undertakes the key function of converting low-speed high torque of the wind turbine into high-speed torque required by the generator. Its technological evolution directly supports the dynamic response capability of the energy storage system. With the accelerated implementation of integrated wind, solar and energy storage projects during the 14th Five Year Plan period, gearboxes no longer only serve the power generation end, but also achieve power smoothing, inertia support and frequency regulation through collaboration with energy storage inverters and flywheel energy storage devices. In 2024, the market size of wind power gearboxes in China will reach 32 billion yuan, with a localization rate exceeding 65%. Enterprises such as NGC, Yuanjing Energy, and Delijia will dominate the market, with Yuanjing achieving self-developed and self-made ENG series gearboxes with a shipping capacity of over 16GW, breaking the dependence on imports. Technologically, the planetary+parallel axis hybrid structure has become mainstream, and the promotion of 10MW+high-power models has accelerated. Lightweight materials and intelligent monitoring systems are widely used, such as the 20-22MW fully integrated medium speed transmission chain of Nan Gao Gear, which has won the global gold award. At the policy level, the 'dual carbon' goals and the 'Outline for Quality Supervision and Inspection of New Energy Storage Power Station Construction Projects' continue to drive the industry towards high reliability, long lifespan, and intelligent upgrading. Although the application of gearboxes in electrochemical energy storage is limited, their power transmission value cannot be replaced in mechanical energy storage systems such as flywheel energy storage and pumped storage. The industry is transitioning from 'component supply' to becoming a provider of 'system level energy management solutions'.
