The integration of China's butterfly valve industry and energy storage industry is essentially a high-end and intelligent transition of this traditional fluid control component to adapt to the extreme working conditions of new energy storage systems. In the field of compressed air energy storage (CAES), butterfly valves need to cope with high pressure (8-15MPa, extreme up to 35MPa), frequent start stop and anti cavitation challenges. For example, Jiangnan Valve's customized turbine butterfly valve for a 300MW air turbine was successfully applied in the Huai'an salt cavern energy storage project. The hydrogen energy industry chain has more stringent requirements for butterfly valves, which need to withstand high-pressure hydrogen gas of 35-70MPa and cryogenic environments of -40 ℃ to -253 ℃, and achieve zero leakage (ISO 15848-1 AH level). The penetration rate of intelligent liquid control check butterfly valves in this field is rapidly increasing. Flow batteries require butterfly valves to have strong corrosion resistance (such as withstanding 2mol/L sulfuric acid) and precise flow regulation capabilities. To meet these demands, the industry widely uses S31603 stainless steel, Hastelloy C276, and ceramic coatings in materials; Innovatively adopting anti surge triple eccentric design in structure to achieve ultra fast response of ≤ 0.4 seconds; And integrate pressure and temperature sensors with IoT functions, promoting the evolution of products from 'mechanical components' to 'intelligent sensing units'. Policies and standards (such as GB/T 35743-2023 Hydrogen Valve Specification) have further accelerated this integration process, making butterfly valves a key equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of energy storage systems, and opening up new market space worth billions.
